The present church was built in 1839 under the pastorate of M.G. Jacobs, replacing an older church. The tower was rebuilt in 1857-72 to a design by H. Jaminé (Hasselt). Restoration and enlargement by the construction of the transept in 1925 to a design by J. Deré. The church is located in the middle of the walled cemetery.
