Description

The Heidebos is located on the large sand ridge of Maldegem-Stekene, between Moerbeke and Wachtebeke. The relief is characterized by the presence of a dune topography with heights consisting of shifting sands. The differences in level with the cover sand tiles are of the order of 3 to 4 meters. The dry, higher parts were too barren to be included in the permanent agricultural area.
