Painter Pieter Bruegel was buried in the Kappelekerk. His grave is located in the fourth arch on the right. There you will find the memorial stone of Pieter Bruegel the Elder. Pieter Bruegel was a good friend of geographer and cartographer Abraham Ortelius. Bruegel died in Brussels on September 9, 1569.
