Castle of Meylandt

Source: wikimedia

Description

The noble fief Meylandt has a long history and is first mentioned in 1385 as Hof ter Boeckt. In 1715, the estate came into the hands of knight Arnold de Theux, who completely rebuilt it into a luxurious castle. The complex has undergone several renovations, including the renovation of 1907 by Albert de Theux, to which the building owes its current appearance. The municipality purchased the complex in 1959, and at present, the municipal academy of fine arts is housed there.
