The Museum of the Battle of the Silver Helmets is housed in an 18th-century barn and commemorates the cavalry battle that took place here on August 12, 1914, between 4,000 German and 2,400 Belgian cavalrymen. The German troops suffered their only defeat of World War I here after an eight-hour battle.
