The Huwynsbossen is a domain forest of 33 hectares and is located on a 49-meter high ridge that separates the IJzer basin and the Schelde basin. The forest is located in the West Flemish municipality of Lichtervelde.
The young forest offers a panorama over the Flemish sand region and the Houtland. It is permanently open and equipped with parking, a picnic area, a bus stop for the call bus, a walking path and a mountain bike route, a bird counting point "Heihoek," a play forest, and a riding path.
