Brewery De Troch

As with many lambic breweries, the origins of brewery "De Troch" lie in a farm. The history of the brewery dates back to 1795. It is located in the rural Wambeek (near Ternat) and still resides in a stately closed farmstead. The installation is almost unchanged and is a gem of archaeological industry. Around 1984, the brewery caused some commotion in the lambic world by being the first to bring exotic beer to the market. This included a lambic with banana, and one with mango. Later, varieties such as strawberry, lemon, peach, mirabelle, and apricot were added. These exotic beers were named "Chapeau" and currently make up the majority of production. In addition to these beers, kriek and oude geuze are still brewed. The Oude Geuze Chapeau Cuvée was one of the first traditional regional products to receive the streekproduct.be label from VLAM.
