The Hazegras Fort is a fort that was located in the Hazegras area, near the Zwin in the municipality of Knokke-Heist, near the hamlet of Oosthoek).
In 1783, skirmishes took place between the Austrian Netherlands led by Emperor Joseph II and the Republic. The Austrian Netherlands had once again taken possession of the Zwin region this year, as was stipulated in the border treaty of 1664. To this end, the Dutch posts were expelled from Fort Saint-Donaas and Fort Saint-Paul. In response, the Republic closed the Passluis at Sluis, thereby complicating the drainage of the Austrian territories.
