Jamioulx is located along the Route Napoleon. It was here in this beautiful village that the passage of Napoleon's troops took place on June 15, 1815 . As he gave his horse to drink and leaned against a young pear tree, the priest of Jamioulx recognized the Emperor. He came closer and he offered Napoleon a glass of his favorite wine: the Chambertin. The two started talking and Napoleon was impressed by the intelligence of the priest. He then asked for his name and asked him to write it in the note book of Napoleon, whereupon Napoleon added: "next bishop of Tournai". However, the defeat of Waterloo decided otherwise.
