Grammene is a village in the municipality of Deinze, in the Belgian province of East Flanders. It is a rural village on the Lys and the Oude Mandel, in Zandlemig Vlaanderen.Grammene was first mentioned in 1121, as Grimmine, which would mean something like grim. The seigneury of Grammene belonged to the Grammina family in the 12th and 13th centuries; in the 14th century Van Schuurvelde; late 14th century De Tolenaare; from the 2nd half of the 15th to the 1st half of the 17th century De Beer; Vanden Heede and the barons of Poeke in the 18th century.
