Schalafie is a village in the municipality of Celles, in the Belgian province of Hainaut.
Schalafie was an independent municipality until it was merged into the municipality of Celles in the municipal reorganization of 1977.
The name Schalafie or Escanaffles is derived from Scheldt or Escaut. The suffix means: moist meadow. Due to the straightening of the Scheldt, some enclaves of Schalafie were located on the left bank of the Scheldt, while Outrijve has a small enclave on the right bank.
