The church of Neerlinter is dedicated to Saint Follian. According to a charter from 1139, this church had existed for a long time. The church had to be rebuilt several times. Sometimes because it was too small, sometimes because it had burned down (a few times) or because an iron cross fell through the roof. Today, therefore, it requires some detective work to situate parts of the church in a particular century.
