Haine-Saint-Pierre is a place in the Belgian province of Hainaut and a district of the Walloon city of La Louvière. Until January 1, 1977, it was an independent municipality. The village has a rich industrial past and grew significantly in the 19th century with the establishment of the Forges Usines et Fonderies Haine-Saint-Pierre, Baume & Marpent, and the Compagnie Centrale de Construction, all construction companies in the metal industry, specializing in railway material. Additionally, Haine-Saint-Pierre was also the center of the glass industry in the region. The first glass factories opened as early as the 18th century.
