The VRT tower is an independent tower for the transmission of radio and television waves. The concrete tower was built in 1996 in Leeuw-Saint-Pierre in Walloon Brabant; It is 300 m high, has a diameter of 27 m at the base and 1.3 m at its top. The tower was erected to improve the reception in Brussels and the location was chosen so as not to hinder Zaventem's air traffic. It was built by Van Rijmène of Ternat.
