Did you know that all the residents of Itterbeek had to flee in 1677 from the robbing and violent French, Dutch, and German armies that made the region unsafe? The population fled en masse to Anderlecht where they found shelter. In 1675, the residents of Vlezenbeek had already done the same. They too fled to Anderlecht.
