Description

St. Dymphna's Chapel is located between Zammel and Oosterlo, on the border of a recent residential zone and the Zammelsbroek at the confluence of the Molenlaak and Grote Nete rivers. Legend has it that Saint Dymphna and Saint Gerebernus stayed here in a hermitage until they were murdered in Geel, a chapel built near a well with supposedly miraculous and healing water to which a pilgrimage arose and where a chapel was built and a lime tree was planted in 1627.
