Very nice view of the Ven under the Berg. This is one of the most valuable fens in Flanders, although there is almost no open water to be seen anymore. It is almost completely overgrown with a floating peat moss carpet on which special plants such as eary woolly grass, cranberry, round sundew, wire sedge, white beaked beaks,... grow. This is a very special place because it is the only site in Belgium of sphagnum sedge.
In the spring you see a lot of vegetables flying here.
In the edge zone of the fen you will find water trefoil, pitrus, cinquefoil and marsh deer. The fen is home to a wealth of dragonflies and amphibians such as the hedge frog.
Given the fragility of these vegetations, it is strongly inadvisable to enter the fen.
