Here we can still see remnants of a former play area without undergrowth. Every year, 10,000 young people at youth camps came here to enjoy themselves. The Kletskop is a roaring name in youth movement circles as a gathering place on the Rodeberg. The name was not chosen by chance because the vegetation of the forest suffered greatly from the overtrodden. This, in turn, gave rise to erosion of the steep slopes, resulting in an even faster deterioration of the forest.
Forest expansion made it possible to move the play areas to a less vulnerable zone and, on the other hand, the footpaths were diverted through the central source areas, without restricting the range of hiking opportunities in the forest. This allows the vulnerable and species-rich source zone to develop spontaneously as a resting area.
