This embankment on the edge of two fields is a staircase of more than one and a half meters high. It is an example of a graft. A graft is a kink or mini-terrace on a slope. Grafts occur on deforested slopes, which are now used as fields or pastures. Grafts were created by a combination of human activity and a natural process of erosion. Due to human activity such as planting or specifically plowing at the edge of the field, erosion above the embankment was slowed down. At the bottom of the protected strip, the (recessive) erosion gnawed away the slope. What you can see here is how fast such a process of erosion can go and how big that impact is o the slope because this boundary is wschl. but only a few hundred years old.
