Deze 240 jaar oude beuk is met een omtrek van 5m10 de dikste beuk van het Meerdaalwoud. Elk jaar neemt de omtrek van deze boom een drietal centimeters toe. Ter vergelijking: de dikste eik van het Meerdaalwoud heeft anno 2012 een omtrek van 5m60. De boomomtrek wordt trouwens gemeten op 1,50 meter hoogte.
