One of the stained glass windows of the chapel that has been in the parish church of Berg since 2003. Work of Mr. Paul WILMOTS, Master Fire Glass Painter.
The Saint Servatius window is full of symbolism: the dark house color points to his probable origin from the east, probably from Armenia. Servatius was Bishop of Tongeren and first apostle of the Netherlands. The angel who sets up the mitre on him is a symbol of his heavenly mission: the key in his hand refers to his patronage of Maastricht, a city which he spared from destruction by the Huns through his prayers, and to the key he received from Peter; The dragon under his feet is the symbol of conquered Arianism or the suppression of paganism ; a spring sprang from his staff during his preachings in Maastrich
