'The Meager Kitchen'. Exhibition on food during WWI in Kampenhout.
On June 28, 1914, a murder was committed that triggered a chain reaction of violence and terror. The German army invaded Belgium in August 1914. Kampenhout was not spared either. For the next four years, ordinary people had to find ways to survive. Food became increasingly problematic as the war progressed.
This exhibition highlights how people in Flanders (and Kampenhout) dealt with this food issue and what (emergency) solutions were devised to quell hunger.
This exhibition was created in close collaboration with the C.A.G. (Center for Agricultural History)

From September 20 to November 2, 2014, at the Witloofmuseum.
