Munsterbilzen, thanks to its rich abbey history, has known several churches. However, these were completely destroyed after the French Revolution and the invasion of the French armies, with the exception of the 16th-century tower.
The rest of the church was built in 1852 and subsequently expanded. The bricks were made by the parishioners themselves. At the front of the tower, you see a half-raised sculpture of Our Lady of the Assumption.
On the side altar stands the reliquary of Saint Landrada, the foundress of the monastery of Munsterbilzen. The reliquary contains the skull and several bones of the saint.
Behind the main altar are murals, typical of the colorful, neo-Gothic churches. On the left side: "Mary with the child" and "Joseph on his deathbed." On the right side: "Jesus and two figures" and "St. Juliana of Cornillon" (patron saint of Paris).
