Before driving under the tunnel towards junction 109, turn left (Sint-Annastraat).
On the way to the Hermitage you pass a chapel that was built in 1653 and is dedicated to Saint Anne. On a map from 1771 she is already referred to as 'Chapelle de Vier Linden'. Today it is still surrounded by four lime trees.
Saint Anne is the mother of Mary. She is often depicted together with Jesus and Mary. Such images are also called 'Sint-Anna-ten-Drieën'. Saint Anne is venerated as the patron saint of mothers and pregnant women, among others. Among other things, she is invoked for a good marriage and against infertility.
