"Den Dikke van Pamel" (or locally also called "den dikke") is a famous village figure in Roosdaal (Pamel). His real name was "Victor De Klercq". He was born in Pamel on 14 June 1848 and died there on 16 February 1885. His real weight is anyone's guess, but Victor was a very broad and heavy figure. On 9 September 2001 a statue was inaugurated at the Kaaistraat in Roosdaal. The sculpture was designed by artist Patrick Van Craenenbroeck.
