During the Eighty Years' War (1568-1648), the Spanish governor or local commander resided in this beautiful former patrician house. After 1918, the building was faithfully reconstructed, although the front was given an additional stepped gable and a typical Flemish Renaissance tabernacle window. This building became the Post Office and underwent a significant expansion in 1989 as a new mail distribution center.
