Cohlenberg Wine Estate

The vineyard is located on a south slope with an excellent microclimate and offers a beautiful view of the Mariënlof Abbey.

It is here that the tradition of pioneer Jan Bellefroid is continued by his daughter Hilda. The first planting took place in 1996, with the main varieties being Müller-Thurgau, Sieger, Auxerrois, and Early Loonse. The location with the right soil of clay, sand, and limestone, combined with respect for the plant and grape, ensures original, mineral-rich, and natural white and red wines with the official designation of origin "Haspengouw" each year.

By appointment, the estate can always be visited for a tour with tasting and, if desired, a bread meal (please reserve in advance with Tourism Borgloon or with the estate itself at tel. 0485 74 53 31 or send an email to Ludo Derwael).

Tour (individual tourists)
- every Wednesday in April and May 2014 at 3:00 PM.
- every Saturday from April 19 to July 12, 2014, at 3:00 PM.
Price: € 5.00 (tour + tasting of two glasses of wine included).

Wine terrace
- every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday in April and the first weekend of May 2014 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
Free entry (tasting for a fee. In bad weather, tasting in the tasting room).
