The Japanese Garden in Hasselt is the largest of its kind in Europe, the place par excellence to fully experience Japanese culture. Originally, a Japanese garden encouraged meditation and contemplation, and that is no different in Hasselt. If you are looking for peace and quiet, you can find a bench here to listen to the waterfalls, watch and feed the koi fish, have a picnic or stroll around quietly and enjoy the changing view. Sometimes you can also hear the peace bell ringing. Since 2016, the peace bell has had a permanent place in the garden. On top of that, there are also plenty of activities that are open to the public every month.
