Here in Little Turkey was the famous café 't Vliegend Paard. During WW I, the daughters from this café, known as the seven sisters, were all admitted together to the Lousbergs hospital, which was known for treating STDs. This was because they suffered from gonorrhea, an STD for which treatment was provided at Lousberg hospital. The youngest daughter was 17, the oldest 38. During WW I, it was not uncommon for the daughters and women from cafés and coffee houses to offer their services as prostitutes.
