The Koekelarebos, Praatbos and castle domain Ter Heyde is a landscape of cultural and historical significance in the vicinity of the West Flemish places Koekelare and Vladslo, which is classified as an anchor site.
The area lies on an outcrop of the Wijnendale Plateau and includes an ancient area of forests and wastelands, including the once much larger Koekelarebos. Due to reclamation, the forest area has become fragmented and includes, in addition to a remnant of the Koekelarebos, the Praatbos, the Welfvenstbos, the domain park of Castle Ter Heyde, and the arboretum located in Bovekerke.
