In the Koekelare Forest, there is an 8 ha large arboretum. The forest is home to many monumental trees. Numerous species of trees and shrubs are cultivated there. Some Koekelare pines are already 126 years old! The Koekelare Forest has a 4.5 km walking path and is freely accessible to hikers. Next to the forest, there is a large playground for the very young and slightly older children.
