Thorough research at the end of the nineties showed that it is exceptionally quiet on the border of South-East Flanders and the southwestern part of Flemish Brabant. The various authorities decided to preserve this unique character and declared the 28 ha 'Dender-Mark area' the first official quiet area in Flanders. Four different walking loops walk through the quiet area. Of course you park the car outside the area, then it remains quiet for everyone. Approach routes take you from the parking lots to the walking routes.
