Between the village center of Meldert and the Sint-Janscollege lies the 40-hectare large Meldertbos. The Meldertbos originally was a classic French garden that connected to the Castle of Meldert. In 1911, at the initiative of the de Lantsheere family, the French garden was replaced by a park in English romantic landscape style.
