The design is by the architect brothers André and Jean Polak. It was constructed from 1964 to 1966 on behalf of the insurance company Assurances générales de Trieste, now Generali, and its subsidiary De Nederlanden van 1870.
The tower has a height of 84 meters and consists of 24 floors. Therefore, it was one of the first buildings in Brussels to exceed 80 meters in height.
