The Frans Tijsman Tunnel is a tunnel north of Antwerp under the Kanaaldok. The tunnel is part of the R2 highway. The tunnel is an extension of the Liefkenshoek Tunnel but has no toll up to exit 12 coming from the Netherlands. The tunnel is 820 meters long.
The tunnel is named after the Antwerp alderman Frans Tijsmans, who died in 1967, the year in which the tunnel was put into use.
