The Centrale Drogenbos of Electrabel is a natural gas power plant on the Brussels-Charleroi canal. The first power plant in Drogenbos was built in 1911 by the English of Continental gaz et d'électricité. It had a capacity of 500 kW and was only connected to the grid in 1929. After various expansions, the first gas turbine was added in 1976. The construction of a modern steam and gas plant began in 1991. An investment of 300 million euros was involved, in which SPE also participated to a small extent. The commissioning followed in 1993.
