The old town hall of Zonhoven is a classicist building in the Belgian municipality of Zonhoven. The former town hall dates back to 1788 and is protected as a monument. It is the only rural town hall in Limburg that dates from the period before the French Revolution.
As early as the beginning of the 18th century, there was a school building in Zonhoven where municipal meetings also took place. The schoolhouse was located on the main street right next to the cemetery wall. With the start of the construction of the Saint Quintinus Church in 1785, the cemetery at the street side disappeared, and it became clear that the schoolhouse would obstruct part of the view of the new church. Therefore, the municipal government at the time decided to build a new school and town hall in the square in front of the entrance to the new church. The building was positioned just before the preserved early Gothic tower of the previous church. The disappearance of the view of the tower ensured that the new church and the town hall would form a single classicist whole. On September 7, 1788, the foundation stone of the new town hall was laid. The pediment on the facade was added in August 1789, the clock beneath it in 1790.
