The Waversebaan, once a Roman heirweg. There is also signage of the Cycling Network and GR trails.
In Roman times, Elewijt was an important Roman settlement (vicus) at a crossroads of trade routes (heirwegen). It originated in the early 1st century and there was probably also a Roman military camp. Even centuries before the Romans arrived here there was already habitation, such as a found farm with barn a little south of the location of the vicus, from the period (750-500 BC). The vicus continued to exist until about the end of the 3rd century. Already in the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries excavations were made and Gallo-Roman finds were found source: wikipedia
