The textile factory
Fabrique de Tissus Loth (Spinning mill weaving Scheppers, founded in 1842) brought an influx of workers from the Waasland who settled in the Carré Breedveld*¹ with it. Textiles were the quintessential product in Central Africa that was used as a medium of exchange for local products.
