Castle farm 'Hof te Veaux' and Castle of Perk

To the west of the castle, the "Hof te Veaux", castle farm with cobbled courtyard, rising to the second quarter of the 18th century with modifications from the end of the 19th century. The castle farm has not been inhabited since 1962. The farm and the beautiful nature reserve in which it is located are part of the Green Valley.

The volunteers of the local Natuurpunt department Machelen-Vilvoorde-Steenokkerzeel no longer want to watch this unique piece of heritage deteriorate. They have set their sights on the resurrection of the beautiful square farm and surroundings.

In 1192 the castle de Ribeaucourt was already mentioned as an allodium of the van Schoten family. The lordship successively became the property of the families of Wezemael, of Bautersem, of Leefdael, of Wavre. From the 14th to the beginning of the 17th century it was owned by the Baronaige, it was acquired by marriage by Frederick of Marselaer. During the 18th century it came into the hands of the Dellafaille and the Steelants. In 1835 the property was bought by count de Ribaucourt. In 2007, the unmarried Count Daniel de Ribaucourt died as the last resident of the de Ribaucourt family. The castle was taken over by and is inhabited by Count Paul de Lannoy and his family. Since then, the castle has been referred to by the municipality of Steenokkerzeel as the 'castle of Perk'.
