In Sint-Martens-Lierde, a borough of Lierde, you will find the remains of the Carthusian priory that rose from the ground here between 1329 and 1352. You can still see the prior house, the impressive entrance gate, the guest quarter, the procurator's house, the barn, a piece of wall wall. The abbey church now serves as a parish church. Very good acoustics, picturesquely located.
The Carthusian hiking trail starts at the Carthusian site. Taste the Carthusian beer in the village pub.
