It is the oldest building in Doel and one of the oldest mills in Belgium. At first it consisted of wood, but later it was built of stone. The mill has been a protected monument since 1946. It was then restored by the owners. Later it became the property of the municipality of Beveren. To date, a tavern has been established there.
