Description

Farm so-called "Hof ter Planken". Historic tenant farm isolated planted in the northeastern corner of Parike on the edge of the valley of the Pachtbosbeek. Already mentioned in 1400, in 1571 as the possession of the Ghent St. Peter's Abbey. The "Goet ter Plancken" also extended to the adjacent Sint-Martens-Lierde. Until the end of the Ancien Regime owned by the same Benedictine abbey. Large semi-closed farmhouse; irregular quadrangular construction the same as on late 17th-century rendering. Approximately 160 meters away from the street with asphalted straight access road, next to a former footpath from Oudenaarde to Geraardsbergen. Spacious mostly cobbled courtyard with rest of central manure bale. Last in the second half of the 20th century renewed entrance gate with high over-angled fence pillars on the western side of the yard. Brick farm buildings of which only few surviving parts from the 17th and 18th centuriesI, mostly modified or replaced in the second half of the 19th century and the 20th century. To the southeast, facing the street wing of old farmhouse, partly converted in 1942 into a two-storey villa, reportedly designed by architect G. Decordier; Year of construction in wind vane of the roof clock from the former farm house. Probably 17th-century nut beams, one decorated with coat of arms of St. Peter's Abbey (three keys), in old volume under gable roof; Also retained two-part vaulted basement with outdoor cellar stairs under the villa. Three-light staircase villa with figuratively colored stained glass window. To the southwest, long double cross barn under artificial slate gable roof, probably since the second half of the 19th century replaces an 18th-century wooden barn with almost the same layout. Basket-arched barn gates and rectangular driveway on the left, with heavy bluestone corner chains at plinth height; stepped roof moldings. To the northwest, low stable wing with horse and cow stables under tiled gable roof, rising to the 18th century but with younger modifications. Right side gable with braids and hard stone corbel. Frowned hard stone blocks to finish two curved barn doors and one rectangular barn door. Brick trough vaults between iron girders. New brick parement against façade.
