Put on your boots or hiking shoes for a special walk. The Oude Landen is one of the most beautiful urban nature areas in Flanders. Due to circumstances, this valuable area has been spared from urban development and port expansion. In spring, you can enjoy the beautiful pinkish-red color of wild orchids, and from July to December, Galloway cattle graze there. Spotting reed birds is popular, with the bluethroat as the highlight. This songbird especially lets its distinctive song be heard at sunrise. The red walk is approximately 4 kilometers long, perfect for an hour of walking pleasure.
