The piece of landscape in Antwerp territory is more fragmented than the section in the Netherlands. Next to the historic core of Zandvliet lies a notable estate. The Antwerp sail manufacturer Kums had a castle built here in the 19th century with an accompanying estate. The Hof van Kums is an eclectic building with glass domes and towers. During the First World War, the tower was lowered by the Germans and a bunker of reinforced concrete was erected.
