Former tenant farm of the Carthusian priory Sint-Maartens-Bos in Sint-Martens-Lierde, so-called "Hof te Nieuwpoort". As "goed ter Nieuwerpoort" mentioned several times in the years 1420 and 1430. Mention of repairs to the farm by the Carthusian priory in the period 1654-1662 and in 1716. Of the rather extensive closed farm with rectangular construction, as shown on the Ferraris map (1771-1778), one of the short wings now remains perpendicular to the valley wall between forest and Zwalmbeek. Scenically beautifully situated in street bend and south of the higher Kloosterbos. Elongated farmhouse with still recognizable mirror image scheme of two former houses of four bays each, under gable roof (since 1976 corrugated iron instead of tiles), perhaps from the 17th to the 18th century. Braids in right side gable. Brick and grey stone broad house of which parts of masonry were renewed in a younger period (19th to 20th century), namely rear façade and western side gable. Whitewashed façade (facing south) with two grouped cloister frames and cross frames with corresponding neg blocks, hatch thumbs, high barred skylights and end relief arches. Both low basket arch doors with keystone and imposts, left semicircular doorstep of 4 stairs next to square basement window. More closed rear façade with smaller windows partly encased in renewed frames and woodwork replaced by plastic; only a few natural stone blocks at the only back door. Indoors, roughly preserved layout with two non-adjacent vaulted house cellars, preserved composite beam layer with heavy unadorned nut beams; central double fireplace renewed. Short brick stable from the 19th century built against the west side façade; square attic hatch above stable door in yard façade; younger extension at the back with garage.
