This Renaissance-style polder church (17th century) was built with materials from an older church located further east. The relocation of both the church and the village (1649) was necessary after the construction of a dike. The facade has been restored and the interior, with an 18th-century wooden vault, is under restoration. Pastor Heldewijs (first half of the 18th century) lived for a time on the first floor of the tower when the rectory was sold and no other accommodation was available to him.
The church in Renaissance style has an east tower, which is quite exceptional in this region.
