This beautiful forest house was a pleasure pavilion. In architecture, a pavilion (from the French pavillon) is a detached, autonomous building or outbuilding for relaxation and/or entertainment. Pavilions can vary greatly in size, such as the Royal Pavilion in Brighton, England, which is actually a huge outdoor palace, but was built for relaxation and entertainment, just like the small structures such as gazebos, tea houses or music tents.
