The Lambic factory

Since October 2017 you can go here in the Fabriekstraat for Oude Geuze 'Brett-Elle'.
What started as a hobby among friends grew into a fully operational brewery: Jo Panneels, Stijn Ecker, Jozef Vanbosstraeten and Jeroen Van Lier, all with roots in Beersel, came up with the idea to start stabbing gueuze themselves after a number of beggars at a café.

None of them came from a brewing family, but that didn't stop them.
They obtained the wooden barrels from Marc Moustie in France, where the group of friends regularly picks grapes. They found shelter in a depot of Jeroen's father and they brewed the lambic themselves, with the help of Brewery Belgoo in the Georges Wittouckstraat.

In the meantime, Jeroen has found another challenge, leaving Jo, Stijn and Jozef.
This trio likes to keep it 100% traditional, brewing and bottling themselves.
The name is a reference to the Brettanomyses yeast on the one hand and Elle on the other, for feminine elegance.

In the meantime, the Brett-Elle is available at several shops in the area.
