At the entrance to the Hoeve Kastanjehof, there are two upright horse chestnuts. The choice of species is atypical, as traditionally indigenous species like lime and oak are chosen for use as welcome trees. The trees are iconic in the street scene. At the right horse chestnut, we see in the crown the result of a severe branch breakage, and consequently, the trunk is no longer continuous.
